Get a Mac

As much as I loved the switcher commercials Apple's new "Get a Mac" ads are just wonderful. Take some time to watch them. Simple. Straight forward. Easy to understand. Sound familiar? Enjoy. Link

These area great; I particularly like the 'network' one. Of all the videos it's the most compelling from a technical standpoint. Sure it's nice that my digital camera just works, but its really nice that I have a rich set of protocols when coding, scripting, what have you. It's the funniest one as well;)

The other spots are a bit softer ("hey! good reviews!" and "oh its just better at life!") but have such an endearing sense of humor that they immediatly instill that friendly feeling that is 50% of what Apple sells. Although it isn't the same domain, contrasting this with the IBM commercials that sell an air of anxiety and competition is an interesting study in influencing people through comfort versus influencing through fear.

I have to ask your opinion on them though, working for MS.

They were all good except the Japanese one. That one didn't make too much sense!

If those ads were at all accurate - the Mac guy would be the one freezing with constant "Type 1" or "Type 2" error messages.

And frankly, they both look like nerds.
